As the lubricant industry continues to grow, so did UMW Group’s strategy and mission in securing a strong foothold in this field of business. While UMW Pennzoil Sdn Bhd monopolises the distribution and marketing the US-origin brand, back in Asia, UMW signed a principal agreement with Repsol and formed UMW Lubricant Sdn Bhd. This venture was made possible through the Group’s strategic partnership with Repsol YPF Lubricantes Y Especialidades (S.A), giving UMW exclusivity in distributing and blending Repsol’s premium range of lubricants for the automotive industry in Asia.

UMW’s strong regional presence and Repsol’s high-performing and cutting-edge range of products have propelled the division into becoming a powerhouse in the lubricant industry in the Asian market. While maintaining its strong presence in the motorcycle lubricants sector in Europe through its association with MotoGP, UMW Lubricant has broadened the brand’s reach in Singapore, Brunei, Papua New Guinea and Myanmar, with further plans to expand to other markets. Now, the division boasts more than 300 outlets in Malaysia and 39 main distributors.

Repsol’s main product range caters to the automotive and industrial sector, passenger, commercial vehicles and industrial clients. In China, Repsol is imported, blended and sold through UMW Lubricant’s subsidiary, Lubritech Limited, China.
