OUR STORY
UMW's roots began in 1917 as an auto repair shop in Orchard Road, Singapore. The business which was known then as United Motor Works quickly bloomed, making it the go-to place for auto repairs. Not long after, it managed to procure the distributorship for automotive parts under General Motors, a household name in the automotive industry in America.

In 1927 the rapidly expanding business was consolidated into an establishment called United Motor Works Pte Ltd - a predecessor of the UMW you see today.
